The lawyers at Rogers Bussey dish out Christmas spirit to local charities

A taste of the Christmas spirit was served to those less fortunate as the lawyers of Rogers Bussey gather to give to local charities as part of their annual Community Christmas Dinner. For the third consecutive year staff at Rogers Bussey have teamed up with the Knights of Columbus and Chef Derm Bradbury of the Delta Hotel to serve a meal, provide presents and entertainment to children and their families, the homeless and anyone needing a hot meal during the holidays.

“Our entire staff of 18 spend weeks gathering corporate donations, buying the vegetables and turkeys, even picking out loot bags and presents to ensure every person receives a good home cooked meal and something special this Christmas” says Richard Rogers, partner with Rogers Bussey, “it’s all about giving back” he added. Rogers says they approached the Knights of Columbus with the idea after learning that some of their own clients found it difficult to make ends meet at Christmas time.

As in previous years, close to 200 people benefited from the annual Community Christmas Dinner, and there were special appearances by singer Terry Reilly and Santa Claus to deliver presents to all the boys and girls. In attendance were patrons of Iris Kirby House, the Association for New Canadians, Rabbittown Community Centre, Buckmasters Circle Community Centre and the Tommy Sexton Centre, among others.
